Backorder your PL1 today!
Demand was high for the PL1 this holiday season and we are currently out of stock while we wait for parts to arrive. We expect the next batch of units to be ready to ship in mid to late January, and we've made it possible for you to order in advance. As a token of our gratitude for anyone willing to place an order now and receive their PL1 later, we're giving away hats to our backorder customers. The new 5-panel Zoa branded hats are pretty slick and will let everyone know you bag more backcountry laps in a day than they do. ;)
A look back at 2024
2024 was a big year for Zoa Engineering. We made some small improvements to the PL1, like the upgraded rope guides, and shipped our products across the globe. We were written about in Powder Magazine, Forecast Magazine, the Financial Times and elsewhere. We had the amazing opportunity to ski at Backcountry SnowCats in Pemberton and show off the PL1. We skied deep into the North American summer and saw the PL1 in action in the southern hemisphere while we waited for the snow to arrive again up north. In the fall we had a great time meeting with PNW skiers and snowboarders at various events, like Snowvana in Portland and Seattle and the Winter Extreme Ski Swap in Vancouver and Abbotsford. This winter has been busy for us as we've worked to fulfill orders and had to contend with delays in receiving parts. As we head into a new year we're excited about what's to come!
New Year's Resolutions
1. We've been very busy with production and fulfillment to start the season, so we're stoked to get back to some research and development in 2025. We have a couple of big prototype projects on the go, some of which we have shared in previous updates. We're resolved to push these prototypes to their limits in 2025 and have more product offerings ready for next season.
2. The PL1 in your local ski shop? We're working on it! In 2025 we're aiming to dip our toes into the retail space. We're resolved to make new connections and have the PL1 proudly on display in retail shops across North America for next season.
3. Making the PL1 available in Europe in 2025 is a huge priority for us. shipping to Europe can be really expensive and we're still a very small company dealing in small volumes, which makes things especially difficult. But we believe that the appetite for our product in Europe is high and we're resolved to get our product into the hands of European customers in 2025.
