It’s been a while since our last update and we apologize for not keeping everyone abreast of our progress. Rest assured, we are working hard to get more PL1s into the hands of our backers. As of today we have shipped 42 units, we have another 20 units ready for shipment, an additional 18 units that need to be tested, and 18 units that need to be programmed before being tested and shipped.

In our last update we mentioned that we were in the final stages of the approval process for shipping dangerous goods. This process has taken us significantly longer than we anticipated. We have finally been cleared to ship in North America, but we are still sorting out some of our overseas shipments, and expanding the list of carriers we can ship with. Please note that under the dangerous goods category we cannot ship to PO box addresses, so if you are a customer with a PO box address, please update it to a personal or business address as soon as possible.

In this update we’ve included a short video to address some questions about setting up the PL1 for first time users, including how to properly flake rope into the rope bag.

We have more informational videos in the pipeline, but we have been prioritizing the production and shipping of our products. In the meantime, our backers can access the user manual here or by using the QR code that comes with every unit.

We are confident that all our North American backers will have their orders fulfilled in time for the upcoming ski season, and we are working hard to get all our backers in the southern hemisphere their orders in time to enjoy the remainder of their ski season.
